To celebrate the Dresser exhibition, The Dorman Museum, Middlesbrough, held a wonderful pottery workshop at the beginning of February - including a wonderful lunch! During this workshop, the cast moulds of the famous pottery were recreated from real Linthorpe pieces, kindly provided by the museum. Performing this intricate and fascinating process were two expert ceramicists, Gordon Broadhurst and Fiona Mazza. During the day, they demonstrated how to create a mould, from the complex calculations needed to ensure perfection, to the pouring of the plaster. The moulds will now be used for future workshops, where attendees will be able to make their own pot! Keep your eyes peeled for more information on our website!
