While Preston Hall Museum staff talked about their historical programme of activities, the River Tees Rediscovered session covered geography and involved presentations from the Tees Rivers Trust and Teesmouth Field Centre followed by outdoor exercises looking at risk assessments and environmental games with the Tees Valley Wildlife Trust on their Preston Farm nature reserve. Everybody threw themselves in to the spirit of the games session, pointing out meanders and tributaries on maps and looking at the dangers of pesticides in the food chain. As well as a lot of fun, the games really helped to warm everyone up! The River Tees offers inspiration for a range of topics as well as geography and resources will be available to download from the website during the coming year.
